SUMMARY:ICE Bridges 2014: Engineering the Future
DESCRIPTION:[section bgcolor=”#f9f9f9″ parallax=”true” padding=”10px 0″ border=”1px solid #ececec”] \n  \n[/section] \n[section bgcolor=”#ffffff” bgimage=”IMAGEURL” parallax=”true” padding=”20px 0″ border=”0px solid #ececec”] IABSE British Group is very pleased to support ICE Bridges 2014.  \nThe UK’s population is set to increase to over 70 million by 2028. Our built environment will need to support this growth and we need ensure that when maintaining critical infrastructure and designing new infrastructure that planning for the future is a priority. \nOur bridges are critical infrastructure and can provide some relief to the network as well as strategic regeneration to an area’s economy.  When a bridge collapses or closes for repairs\, it can cause massive disruption\, and every bridge construction has its own individual challenges that must be taken into consideration at all stages. With events such as the 2013/2014 floods it has never been so important to ensure our bridges can withstand extreme conditions. \nThe Institution of Civil Engineer’s Conference on Bridges will bring together those responsible for the planning\, design\, construction\, safety\, maintenance\, operational and post use of bridges with the wider supply chain.  Enabling discussion and sharing of innovative solutions and best practice case studies that span the life-cycle of a bridge\, and the issues they face today and tomorrow. \nICE have released programme details\, with key topics to include: \n\n Accelerated techniques and technologies to enhance the safety\, quality\, cost and programme delivery\nInnovation in new design\, advances in bridge construction techniques and materials\nEuro codes\, safety standards\, inspection and their impact on bridge engineering\nCase studies from major projects leading the way in structural innovation\n\nRegistration is now open on ice-bridges.com.
