This is an opportunity to hear leading figures from industry reflecting back on their career and sharing their own personal story about their journey to success. The panel discussion will be followed by a Q&A session and then a buffet will be available. Tickets are limited so please purchase your ticket to avoid disappointement. \n17:45 – Arrival\n18:15 – Discussion & Q&A\n19:30 – Networking \nBrian Duguid – Moderator\nBrian is a Technical  Director and Practice Leader for Bridges at Mott MacDonald. With experience in all areas of bridge engineering\, he enjoys the creative and collaborative sides of design. Brian has been involved in a number of design contests\, as well as helping to produce IABSE’s International Guidelines for Bridge Design Competitions. He is an Honorary Lecturer in bridge design at the University of Manchester\, a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers and a member of the IABSE British Group’s Executive Committee. Brian is currently the lead design civil engineer for Network Rail’s Orsdall Chord Project. \nNigel Jacques\nNigel is a Chartered Civil Engineer and practicing Programme Engineering Manager accountable for delivering the Engineering of Network Rail’s £1.5bn Northern Hub\, North West Electrification and LNW(North) Enhancements Programmes. Nigel has led the Engineering on several major railway enhancement programmes over his 20 years in the industry.\nMarried with three children\, Nigel has gained a Masters in Business Administration at Birmingham University and Senior Leadership accreditation from Warwick University. He enjoys supporting his local football team (Blackburn Rovers) and spending time with his family. \nLisa Mcfarlane\nLisa Mcfarlane is an architect with over 15 years experience in practice and is the current President of the Manchester Architects (formerly Manchester Society of Architects). She is Associate Director at Seven Architecture in Manchester\, heads up the Seven Renew sector specialism in heritage and conservation and is a RIBA Accredited Conservation Architect.\nLisa is active in promoting both architecture and heritage in the Manchester and North West Region through her involvement in the Manchester Architects and the Institute of Historic Buildings and Conservation and also represents the Manchester Architects/RIBA as a panel member of the Manchester City Council Conservation Panel. \nPaul Fenwick\nPaul holds an honours degree in Civil Engineering\, is a Chartered Civil Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers. He has 40 years’ Local Government experience in the field of highways and transportation. Paul joined the Mersey Gateway Crossings Board (MGCB) in 2014 to lead their technical and contract management team through the construction/commissioning phase of the Mersey Gateway Bridge project.\nPrior to joining the MGCB\, Paul was Project Director on the New Tyne Crossing project for the Tyne and Wear Integrated Transport Authority. He steered the project through initial development\, public inquiry\, procurement\, construction/commissioning and the first 2.5 years of full operation. \nMark Bulmer\nMark is a Technical Director and project manager for AECOM’s long span bridge group with over 20 years’ experience. He has worked on the construction of three of the world’s longest suspension bridges and more than 20 suspension bridges throughout his career. He is well known for his work on the preservation of suspension bridge cables by dehumidification.
