We are pleased to announce the next IABSE British Study Tour to Belgium from Thursday, 6th to Sunday, 9th October 2022. We will spend a long weekend visiting some of the most distinguished and multi-award winning buildings and bridges in the country. The itinerary is being developed but we currently plan to visit:
- Smedenpoort Footbridges (Ney+Partner)
- Knokke-Heist Footbridge (Ney+Partner)
- Port House, Antwerp (Zaha Hadid)
- Liege-Guillemins Station (Calatrava)
- King Baudouin (Heysel) Stadium, Brussels
We will be based in Brussels, with travel planned via Eurostar and then coach. We are currently inviting expressions of interest for the trip; please visit the link below to let us know if you are interested. Further details will be announced in due course.
Note that you can bring guests to the trip; they will also need to register. IABSE members, and especially young members (<35), will benefit from a discounted registration fee. The registration fee will cover travel inside Belgium (coach or train fares), ancillary costs (entry fees etc) and one evening meal. Attendees will be expected to organise their own travel and accommodation.
The trip will be a great opportunity to see some great engineering works and to spend an excellent long weekend with fellow IABSE members.
