The IABSE British Group is delighted to welcome you to the Future of Design Cambridge 2026, a full-day conference for young engineers aimed at promoting the work of early careers designers and inspiring the future generation, held on the 24th of March at the Department of Engineering, University of Cambridge.

Schedule
Please arrive at the Department of Engineering Main Reception. The event will be in Lecture Theatre 6 (LT6), located on the First Floor of the Baker Building. There will be someone at the reception to direct you to the room.

Lunch will be served in Lecture Room 11 (LR11), located on the Ground Floor of the Baker Building.
At the end of the day, please join us at the Panton Arms for a drink after the event!

Getting to the Event
The event will be held at the Department of Engineering, University of Cambridge, located on Trumpington Street in central Cambridge, CP2 1PZ.
By Train
The nearest station is Cambridge Railway Station, approximately 20 minutes’ walk from the Department of Engineering.
Taxis are available outside the station, and several bus routes run from the station to the city centre. A taxi journey typically takes 5-10 minutes.
By Bus
Several bus services stop near the Engineering Department along Trumpington Street and Lensfield Road. The department is a short walk from the city centre bus stops.
By Car
Parking in central Cambridge is very limited. Visitors are strongly encouraged to travel by train or public transport where possible.
If driving, the easiest option is to use one of Cambridge’s Park & Ride sites and take a bus into the city centre.
By Bike
Cambridge is very bike-friendly, and there is plenty of bicycle parking at the department.
From the City Centre
The Department of Engineering is located just south of the city centre, approximately 5 minutes’ walk from King’s College and the Senate House.
