Every year IABSE awards prizes to individuals who excel in the field of structural engineering, in research, design or construction.

The British Group Executive can nominate individuals for these awards and are always keen to hear nominations for these awards from which we can select candidates. The two awards are:

IABSE Early Career Prize

Established in 1982, this prize is awarded to Individual Members under the age of 40 who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in the field of structural engineering.

To be considered to be put forward by the British Group, please forward your CV (max 2 pages) and a statement (max 1 page) of why you feel you should be considered for the award.

International Award of Merit in Structural Engineering

The award was established in 1975 to underline the importance of the work done by engineers, by highlighting examples of particular significance. It will be conferred for outstanding contributions in the field of structural engineering, with special reference to their usefulness to society. Awardees need not be members of IABSE.
